Introduction Once the location of the water feature has been chosen, it is time to determine and prepare for the type of construction of the water feature. A water feature may be installed during any frost-free period. If there is a “dry season” in your area, that will be the best time to construct your water feature. A spring shower or torrential summer downpour can create construction challenges with a half dug feature. Covering a construction area with tarps or plastic may help keep the area dry. Learning Outcomes After completing this module you will be able to: explain surface area and water volume calculations, describe the construction procedures for selected ponds, describe the construction procedures for selected moving water features, describe how to finish the edges of water features, describe how to tune a waterfall, and describe how to create a containerized water feature. Learning Activities Review Questions for Water Feature Construction Note: Module reviews make up 10% of the course grade, and are part of the Assignment Category on the course outline. Their purpose is to provide you with review to enhance your learning and practice in preparation for the final examination.
