Find the static pressure at the sprinkler for each of the following scenarios. STATIC PRESSURE 1.A system where the sprinkler is 20 ft above the source. 70 psi at the source 2.The sprinkler is 30ft above the source. 65 psi at the source 3.The sprinkler is 40 ft below the pump. 80 psi at the pump 4.The sprinklers are 15 feet below the source. 85 psi at the source 5.The source is 5 feet above ground and the sprinklers are 20 feet above ground level. 75 psi at the source DYNAMIC PRESSURE Find the dynamic pressure using Class 160 PVC pipe. 1a) What is the pressure loss in 100 ft of 1” pipe if the flow is 10 gpm? _________ b)What is the pressure loss in 100 ft of 1 1/4” pipe if the flow is 10 gpm?_________ c)What is the pressure loss in 50 ft of 1” pipe if the flow is 12 gpm? _________ d)What is the pressure loss in 780 ft of 1½” pipe if the flow is 30 gpm? ________ 2. What is the pressure loss in 300 ft of ¾” 160 PVC pipe if there are 160 emitters in the pipe that need 1.0 gph each? 3. What is the pressure at the end of an 80 ft 1” 160 PVC pipe if there are 150 emitters in the pipe each using 4L/hr. The pressure at the source is 40psi. B B A A 4. In the diagram above the length of pipe from point A to point B is 125 ft. The difference in elevation is 15 feet. All pipe is 1” Class 160 PVC. Flow is 16 GPM. If the Pressure at point A is 80 psi what is the dynamic pressure at point B? 5.a) What is the dynamic pressure at a sprinkler that is 75 ft horizontally from the source? All pipe is 3/4 “ PE. The flow in the pipe is 10 gpm. Pressure at the source is 50 psi. b) If this were a sprinkler designed to run at 40 psi would there be enough pressure for the sprinkler to operate. 6. What is the dynamic pressure of a sprinkler that is 75 feet above the source and attached to the valve( source) with 200 feet of 1 ¼” Class 200 PVC pipe with a flow of 18GPM. The pressure reading at the source is 85 psi.
