Welcome to Softscape Maintenance This is a combined course looking at various sectors within the Horticulture Industry and will build on tools that can be used to Maintain Softscape structures. We will explore snow & ice removal, decompaction and salt mitigation strategies, living walls and how to care for them, excellent tools to maintain wood fences, paving stones and how to use pressure washers correctly to minimize damage to delicate outdoor structures. The learning objectives we will cover are: Describe snow removal and management techniques. New industry tactics for ice control and snow management on a residential and commercial level. Explain basic care and maintenance of common landscape structures you may encounter on your journey as a Landscape Horticulturist. Describe repairing damage to softscapes by essential mitigation strategies and techniques. Identify Tropical Plants commonly used in Living Walls. Explain the many elements of caring for and installing interior plants. Moving learning forward with engaging activities and assignments that examine the topics closely will build skills and provide a strong core foundation to the learning objectives.
